Ohio NOW  Affirmative Action Policy

Whereas, the Racial and Ethnic Diversity Task Force recognizes today’s attacks
on affirmative action as an attempt to maintain centuries of discriminatory
habits, customs and attitudes; and

Whereas, in order to promote a more perfect state of unity, prosperity, and
spirituality, those habits, customs and attitudes must change;

Therefore be it resolved that the Ohio National Organization for Women
supports a global affirmative action policy which includes economic justice,
equality for all women in all spheres, quality health care, non-limiting
education and educational opportunities, job training, and political
empowerment; and

Be it further resolved that Ohio NOW will take action, work in coalition with
civil rights organizations, lobby for stronger legislation and better
enforcement of existing affirmative actions laws, and work to elect more
racially diverse governmental bodies.
