WAL-MART ACTIVISM |
The holiday season offers an excellent opportunity for NOW Members, Friends and Coalition Partners to vigorously protest Wal-Mart's employment practices.
Their slogan, "Wal-Mart: Always Low Prices," Really Ought To Be "Wal-Mart: Always Discriminates."
Wal-Mart has been charged repeatedly with discrimination against women, people of color and people with disabilities. According to a class action lawsuit by 1.6 million women, Wal-Mart is a major perpetrator of discrimination against women in pay and promotions. The largest employer in the United States, Wal-Mart is bad for women, bad for workers, and bad for the environment.
